3 Silent Hill Games and More Revealed During Transmission Event

Silent Hill is back with a bang with 5 new projects in the works

Konami has revealed three Silent Hill games, an interactive streaming thingy and a new film at the Silent Hill Transmission event on Wednesday. If you missed it, you can watch the full stream below.

Five new Silent Hill projects were revealed during the live-streamed event, including a remake of Silent Hill 2, a new game being developed by Scottish developer No Code, and another new game set in 1960s Japan. Konami also revealed a Silent Hill interactive streaming series and a new Silent Hill film to be directed by Christophe Gans who directed the 2006 film.

The Silent Hill franchise has been pretty quiet for the last 10 years apart from the odd spin-off thing. The last games were released in 2012. But it seems Konami is looking to revive Silent Hill in a big way with the announcement of five new projects, including 3 games. Silent Hill 2 Remake

A remake of Silent Hill 2 was revealed during the transmission event. The remake of what is widely regarded as the best game in the series will be developed by Bloober Team (The Medium) in collaboration with Akira Yamaoka and Masahiro Ito and published by Konami. The Silent Hill 2 remake revisits the main protagonist James Sunderland in his search for clues in the town.

Silent Hill: Townfall

Silent Hill: Townfall is a new game in development by Glasgow-based developer No Code Studio (Untold Stories, Observation) and will be published by Annapurna Interactive. Pretty much nothing is known about Townfall except for what is the teaser trailer but developer No Code has said on Twitter that they “can’t wait to show us more soon.”

Silent Hill f is another new game and will be a completely new story set in 1960s Japan and will feature a beautiful yet horrifying world. The game is written by Japanese visual novelist Ryūkishi07 who is famed for writing about murder mysteries and supernatural and psychological horror.

Silent Hill: Ascension

Silent Hill: Ascension is a new interactive streaming service where viewers and the community can shape the canon of Silent Hill. Ascension aims to immerse participants in the psychological horror of Silent Hill in a unique way – by putting all new characters and story in the hands of the audience.

Return to Silent Hill

Return to Silent Hill is a new film project that will be directed by Christophe Gans, who directed the first Silent Hill film in 2006.
