2017 has been a pretty good year for PlayStation 4 games, Horizon Zero Dawn being my overall favourite so far this year.
But 2017 is not over yet and there is still just under three months to go until Destiny 2 is released, which will no doubt take of the majority of my gaming time for the next couple of years.
Thankfully there is a couple of games coming out before Destiny 2 drops and a couple due for release after Destiny 2, should I get burned out grinding for sweet, sweet loot.
Heres the five games coming out between now and the end of the year that I am looking forward to playing.
Destiny 2
Release Date: September 8th, 2017
Destiny 2 is undoubtedly my most eagerly awaited game. There is just under three months until it releases, which feels like an absolute eternity away.
I really want to play this because: I absolutely played the crap out of Destiny 1, over 2500 hours which is more than game time than any other game I have played. Destiny 1 was not without it’s flaws but damn, the shooting was awesome, the weapons and gear was awesome, the raids where awesome.
If Destiny 2 can improve upon Destiny 1, and I mean the current state of Destiny 1, not just vanilla Destiny, then it should be pretty amazing.
Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy
Release Date: June 30th, 2017
I remastered Trilogy of the first three Crash Bandicoot games, Crash Bandicoot, Cortex Strikes Back and Warped.
I really want to play this because: I haven’t played a Crash Bandicoot game in years. I got the very first Crash game for Christmas 1996 on the original PlayStation and I think I played Cortex Strikes Back.
I find games like Crash Bandicoot really fun, there nothing complex about them just good old-fashioned gaming enjoyment. The price is very reasonable aswell, currently only £27.99 from Amazon. Can’t really say no to that for three games. Although it is published by Activision, so no doubt they will find a way to introduce Micro-Transaction or paid DLC and ruin it for everyone.
Uncharted: The Lost Legacy
Release Date: August 22nd, 2017
Uncharted: The Lost Legacy is a single player, standalone expansion which acts as a sort of sequel to Uncharted 4. It features previous characters Chloe Frazer and Nadine Ross and takes place in India.
I really want o play this because: It’s an Uncharted game and Uncharted games are pure awesome.
South Park: The Fractured But Whole
Release Date: October 17th, 2017
South Park: The Fractured But Whole is an RPG game set in South Park. It takes place after the Events of Stick of Truth.
I really want to play this because: South Park is one of my all time favourite TV shows, it’s hilarious. I never played The Stick of Truth, which I regret so I was excited when this game was announced. I just hope it’s as funny as the TV show.
Need For Speed: Payback
Release Date: November 11th, 2017
Payback is the latest game in the Need for Speed Franchise. It is set in a place called Fortune Valley and the story is about three drivers trying to get revenge against a cartel which runs the town
I really want to play this because: I haven’t played a decent racing game since The Crew. I’m sure there where better racing games released after The Crew, I just haven’t played them.
From the trailers I have seen the game looks pretty good and from what I have read it’s supposed to have a decent story, maybe. I’ll give it a whirl anyway when it cones out.
