If anything, this Years The Game Awards has shown us that 2023 is going to be jam-packed with great games. A great, nay, amazing game from this year – Horizon Forbidden West, will be getting a DLC next year.
Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores DLC will see Aloy’s story continue as our fearless warrior heroine travels to a dangerous new region south of the Tenakth Clan Lands. The Burning Shores expansion sees Aloy pursue a sinister threat in the untamed wilds of Los Angeles.

Hollywood Tonight
Developer Guerrilla Games has said that the Burning shores is an ambitious expansion that will take Aloy to the ruins of Los Angeles. The city is overgrown and fractured and can be fully explored by water or by flying on the back of a Sunwing. One of the screenshots shows Aloy in Tinsel Town with an overgrown Hollywood sign clearly visible.
In this overgrown Los Angeles, a massive machine threat lurks in its shadows – a huge challenge that Aloy must overcome by using all of her skills and abilities.
As the Burning Shores expansion is ambitious both technically and creatively Guerrilla Games have said they have taken the difficult decision to make the expansion exclusively available to PS5 consoles only. So PS4 players of Horizon Forbidden West will sadly miss out on the expansion unless they buy a PS5.
Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores will launch for PS5 on 19th April 2023.
