Theres nothing better than getting stuff for free, whether it’s a free pint or a free pizza and free games are certainly very welcome so it’s great to see that the free PlayStation Plus games lineup just seems to be getting better and better.
Last month we got the rather good and scary Until Dawn this month we’re getting two pretty solid titles. Hopefully the days of getting utter garbage games on PS Plus are over.
First up is Just Cause 3, a third person open world action game with plenty of action, explosions and stunts. I’ve never played it but by all accounts it’s not too bad, apart from some technical issues which I’ve seen reported by players the game looks pretty decent. Just Cause 3 was first released in December 2015 and scores a fairly reasonable 73 on Metacritic.
Next up is Assassin’s Creed: Freedom Cry. This was originally released as a DLC to Assassin’s Cred Black Flag but was then released as a standalone title. I’ve never played any of the Assassins’ Creed games so I am looking forward to downloading Freedom Cry to give it a whirl. Freedom Cry scores a fairly average 71 on Metacritic but is probably worth downloading anyway since it costs absolutely nothing whatsoever.
While we’re on the subject of PlayStation Plus and free stuff, there’s also a free PS Plus theme available to download to celebrate the 7th birthday of PlayStation Plus.
Admittedly, the free theme does not look particularly great, I did try it out and after two seconds I had to switch back to my custom Elite Dangerous backgrounds.
The blue colour is OK but the mustard yellow looking colour, which I’m sure is supposed to be gold or something looks absolutely terrible, probably give it a miss unless you don’t mind becoming nauseas each time you go into a PS4 menu.
