A Plant-Based World War 2 Shooter

You’ve probably heard of plant-based meat and various other plant-based things but Cactus Cowboy – Plants at War is the first plant-based VR World World 2 fiction story.

The game is a first-person shooter action game from Cactus VR Studios where you have to defend Cacti Island against an attack from the Bug army. Here’s the official description of the game from the developer.

When the bug army attacked Cacti Island, the Cacti Army deployed you into battle. Together with your comrade Emilio, you fight many battles in the trenches, cities, and woods of Cacti Island, unraveling the story behind the backstabbing attack of the bug army. While on your adventure, you make new friends, learn new skills, and survive the relentless attacks of the bugs. This WW2 themed VR story shooter brings your weapon combat skills to a new level while taking you on a marvelous adventure through the Cactus Cowboy World.

Cactus Cowboy – Plants at War features a story and gameplay that is over four hours long, that’s pretty long for a VR game. The game also has a lot of popular guns from the World War 2 era that you can use to defend Cacti Island.

The game is based on Cactus VR Studios’ previous game Cactus Cowboy Fully Loaded but has a lot of additional features. Plants at War will have things like two-handed weapons, recoil, voice acting, assistance from NPC characters, a more immersive story and lots of cool little details. The game will also utilise the haptic feedback function of the PS VR2 Sense controllers.

Check out these awesome-looking PS VR2 screenshots from the game. A massive thank you to Cactus VR Studios for sending me the screenshots.

Cactus Cowboy – Plants at War will be able to be played in all three VR play styles. Sitting, standing or roomscale. Oh, and did I mention that it will be free to play? Yes, that’s right, you won’t need to spend any money to play this game. You don’t get much for free these days, let alone an action-packed shooter to play on your new PS VR2.

Cactus Cowboy – Plants at War will release on February 22nd for PlayStation VR2. You can add it to your wishlist right now. Search for it on the PS Store on your PS5 or wishlist it via the web store.
