Days Gone might not have gotten a sequel but it might be getting the remaster treatment on PS5. Bend Studio‘s 2019 open-worl;d zombie game is rumoured to be getting a remastered version for PS5 and it might be announced at the next State of Play.

This rumour comes from fellow Scot and VGC writer Jordan Middler who alluded to a remaster in an X post. Middler responded to another user posting about Jeff Grubb’s rumour that there would be a “less exciting[than Horizon Zero Dawn]” remaster announced at the next State of Play.

The “he” Middler is referring to I believe is John Garvin, the Days Gone game director who has been a bit outspoken on social media. Garvin has apparently made some angry posts about Days Gone not getting a sequel and the main character Deacon being used to promote Astro Bot.

So you can put two and two together to ascertain that Middler is probably referring to a Dyas Gone remaster. I am not certain how reliable Jordan Middler is as a leaker but he certainly has some industry contacts so I guess this rumour could end up true.

I quite liked Days Gone and although I am not too keen on remasters of games that aren’t that old, if it was a £10 upgrade I would pay that for a Days Gone Remastered.

According to Jeff Grubb, the next State of Play event will take place on September 24th. At this State of Play, we will possibly see the Horizon Zero Dawn Remaster get officially announced. Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered was seemingly confirmed by a rating page on the ESRB website just the other day.

And, presumably at the next State of Play Sony might, and that is a big might, also announce this Days Gone Remastered for PS5. We shall see.
