While most of us are eager to get out of the house and return to some sort of normality after enduring a year of the pandemic. PlayStation is giving us nine new reasons to stay at home. Nine new games are now available to download for FREE as part of the PlayStation Play at Home campaign.

We’ve already had Ratchet & Clank(PS4) for free as part of Play at Home and you can still download this until the 1st of April.

Play at Home Free Games

For their latest Play at Home offering, PlayStation has made a total of nine games available to download for absolutely nothing, nada, nowt. There are five PS4 indie games and four PlayStation VR games to download as of today. You can freely download these games up until the 23rd of April 2021.

Subnautica

Subnautica is one of the nine free Play at Home games

Play at Home PS4 Indie Games

Subnautica is probably the standout game int his list. It’s all about exploring and surviving in an open-world underwater environment on a distant alien planet. Sounds good to me.

Abzu is another underwater based adventure game where you descend into the ocean to discover forgotten secrets and majestic creatures.

The Witness is a very tricky puzzle game. I bought this ages ago but gave up after a while as my feeble brain couldn’t get the puzzles solved. If you like interesting puzzle games, The Witness is worth a download.

I’ve never played Enter the Gungoen or Rez Infinite but I hear that Rez Infinite is supposed to be pretty good.

Astro Bot Rescue Mission

Play at Home PSVR Games

The only game I have played here is Astr Bot Rescue Mission, and it’s absolutely amazing. It’s a 3D platformer that shows off just how good PlayStation VR can be. If you own a PSVR headset this is an absolute must-play.

How to Get The Play At Home Games

Downloading the free Play at Home games is simple. On PS4 just launch the PlayStation Store App from the dashboard then go to the Play at Home menu item on the left-hand side.

On PS5, simply move over the PlayStation Store menu item on the dashboard and select the Play at Home tile to be taken to your nine free games.

You can also download the games from the PlayStation App. Just tap the PS Store icon at the bottom, then tap ‘See more’ underneath the Play at Home graphic. Then you can just tap into each game and download to your console.

If you want to download the games to your console from a web browser, visit the Play at Home category on the PS Store website.

Adding Play at Home Games To Your Library

You may not want to download all the Play at Home games at once, especially if you’re on PS5 and aren’t using an external hard drive for PS4 games. When downloading from the console PlayStation Store, there did not seem o be an ‘Add to Library’ button, only a download button. But if you want to just add the games to your library, there is a workaround.

If you visit the game’s page on the PlayStation store website there does seem to be an ‘add to library’ option. Simply click on the big orange ‘Add to Library’ button and you should be good.

If you want to add the games to your library from the PS4 or PS5 console, the only way I can see to do it is to initiate the download of the games then in the downloads list just select cancel and delete.

The games will then show up in your library under purchased games (on PS4) or under Your Collection on PS5.

What Other Games Are Coming to Play at Home?

We have nine great games to download from today for free as part of PlayStation’s Play at Hoem campaign. We’ve already had Ratchet & Clank, which you can still grab before April 1st. But what else is coming to Play at Home for free?

If you are brand new to the PlayStation ecosystems and community after managing to snag yourself a coveted PlayStation 5, you’ve probably heard of an upcoming game called Horizon Forbidden West. Well, Forbidden West won’t be free but its predecessor Horizon Zero Dawn will be.

The complete edition of Horizon Zero Dawn will be available for free from April 19th until May 14th. Just int time to get you in the mood for Forbidden West which will hopefully be out later this year.
