There was a time when some PS VR2 fans were concerned that PS VR2 games would be delivered completely in digital form. Game collectors everywhere were dismayed at the prospect of not being able to collect physical, boxed releases of PS VR2 games.
Bot now we know that PlayStation VR2 will have physical, boxed games we can breathe a sigh of release, safe in the knowledge that we can collect games or just sell them when we have finished them.
Currently, there are only seven PS VR2 games that have confirmed physical releases. But with publishers like Perp Games on board there will surely be plenty more to come.
The first PS VR2 game to get a confirmed physical release was The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners Chapter 2: Retribution. However, Skydance Interactive’s survival horror won’t actually be the first physical PS VR2 game to come out. TWD: Saints & Sinners Chapter 2 physical edition will release on 25th April but the Perp Games published Dyschronia: Chronus Alternate will be released physically on February 22nd. As will the THQ Nordic published Townsmen VR.
The PS VR2 launch line-up is already looking very healthy indeed and with the knowledge that more games will inevitably arrive in physical form as well as digital, we have a lot to look forward to.

Cave Digger 2: Dig Harder
Cave Digger 2: Dig Harder is confirmed to be getting a physical release on PS VR2 thanks to publisher Perp Games. The physical version of Cave Digger 2 can also be pre-ordered from Amazon and is priced at £24.99 with a release date of March 3rd.
Dyschronia: Chronos Alternate
Time-altering, memory-diving adventure game Dyschronia: Chronus Alternate by developer MyDearest is also getting a PS VR2 physical version thanks to Perp Games. It looks like Dyschronia can’t be pre-ordered yet but it has got a release date of February 22nd.
Song in the Smoke: Rekindled
PS VR2 survival game Song in the Smoke: Rekindled will be available in blue plastic box form, again, thanks to publisher Perp Games. There’s no release date yet for the physical version but the 17-bit developed game is apparently really good, so it’s one to look forward to.
Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxies Edge – Enhanced Edition
The physical version of the PS VR2 launch game Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxies Edge – Enhanced Edition will be arriving on April 7th. Again, thanks to the awesome folks over at Perp Games.
Syth Riders Remastered Edition
Perp Games sure to love to publish physical games and we thank them for it. The publisher is also bringing the remastered edition of Syth Riders to PS VR2 in physical form. There’s no release date yet for the Kluge Interactive-developed music game but it should be available fairly soon after the launch of the digital version I would think.
Townsmen VR
HandyGames’ City Builder Townsmen VR is another game coming to PS VR2 in a lovely blue plastic box. This time though it’s THQ Nordic who will be publishing the physical release. Townsmen VR will be dropping physically and digitally on PS VR2 launch day on February 22nd. Townsmen VR can be pre-ordered from Amazon and is priced at £34.99.
The Walking Dead Saints & Sinners Chapter 2: Retribution
The Walking Dead Saints & Sinners Chapter 2: Retribution will be walking onto store shelves (or should that be walking off?) on April 25th. The boxed version of the horror survival game based on The Walking Dead franchise is published by Maximum Games. Currently, it is the Payback Edition that is available physically for pre-order from Amazon from $49.99.
Crossfire: Sierra Squad
Crossfire: Sierra Squad is the latest game to get the physical treatment courtesy of Pepr Games. The superb PSVR2 arcade shooter was originally released in digital form in August 2023, now Perp Games are launching the game in a snazzy plastic box. Crossfire has a ton of content and some great gunplay and arcade action and is well worth the £29.99 price tag.
