Sucker Punch Productions has announced that their open-world Samurai epic Ghost of Tsushima will be playable on PS5 day one via backwards compatibility. But the PS5 will also allow the game to run at higher framerates, up to 60FPS.

Sucker Punch is the third major PlayStation first-party developer to confirm that their PS4 games will work on PS5.

Sony has also detailed which PS4 games WON’T work on PS5 and have created a support article for any backwards compatibility questions.

Ghost of Tsushima on PS5 higher framerates

Ghost of Tsushima is set to get a major FREE update this Friday 16th October. The update will bring co-op and multiplayer modes to the awesome game set in late 13th century feudal Japan.

The Ghost of Tsushima Legends update will furnish the game with two-player story missions and four-player survival missions. The update will also add a New Game+ mode and a four-player raid is to come a bit further down the road.

Your save game data on the PS4 version of Ghost of Tsushima will also transfer over to PS5. So if you start a New Game+ this Friday you can take your progress with you onto PS5.
