Some disappointing news for virtual photography fans eager to snap some awesome screenshots from God of War Ragnarok. Turns out the game will not have a photo mode at launch but will come after launch.

In a tweet replying to the virtual photography website The Fourth Focus, Santa Monica Studio confirmed that God of War Ragnarok won;t have a photo mode when the game launches on 9th November. But will instead be coming after the game launches.

This is very disappointing news indeed. I was looking forward to spending a lot of time messing around in photo mode in Godo of War Ragnarok.

Santa Monica Studio did not mention how long it will take for them to add photo mode to the game. Hopefully, it will not be too long.

On the upside, this could mean that the God of War Ragnarok photo mode could be pretty good. If its not released along with the game, then it could be that Santa Monica Studio is still making some finishing touches to the photo mode.

I hope the photo mode will be similar to the one in The Last of Us Part I or Ghost of Tsushima. Or indeed Spider-Man: Miles Morales. Those games had amazing photo modes. I much prefer the photo modes that give you the option of adding extra light sources to the scene. As it can make for some really great screenshots. So hopefully Satna Monica Studios are planning a pretty awesome photo mode for God of War Ragnarok.

God of War Ragnarok will launch on November 9th for PS4 and PS5.
