Ubisoft have released a rather snazzy looking Assassin’s Creed Odyssey theme to celebrate the upcoming release of the newest Assassin’s Creed game. The only thing is, it’s currently only available in the US PlayStation Store.
As I felt a wee bit sad that I couldn’t get this nifty looking Assassin’s Creed Odyssey theme on to my PS4, I tweeted to Ubisoft to plead with them to make the theme available on the European PS Store.
After a few minutes, a very helpful chap told me to create a US account to download the theme, I totally forgot you could do that.

So I created a US account and got the theme. Nice.
Creating a US account is pretty simple and quick to do, so here’s how to go about it.
Step 1: Go to this web address to create a new PSN account.
Step 2: Click the start button, then fill in your email address and desired password. You’ll need a new email address, you won’t be able to use the one currently linked to your UK PSN account. Once you’ve filled in your new email address and password, lick Next on the top right of the page.
Step 3: On the next page, change the Country/Region to United States, for State/Province select California, and enter your fdate of birth. Once that’s done, click the Next button at the top right of the page. Note: I’m sure the first toime I did this it asked for a postcode, put in 90210 if it asks for one. You can also use any US address if you know of a different one.
Step 4: After clicking next, you’ll need to confirm that you are not a robot. You will then be taken to a page where you can select if you want updates, then you can click the button to create your new US account. After creating the new account, you will be asked to verify the account, you should probably do this as it may not let you download stuff fromt he PS Store if you don’t.
Step 5: Once your new US account is set up and verified, log in to your PS4, go to Power then Create New Account.
Step 6: Sign in to PlayStation Network with the email and password for your new US PSN account.
Step 7: Follow the rest of the on screen prompts and new account set up, skipping where necessary.
Step 8: Once your back to the PS4 dashboard, open up the PS Store app, then on the left menu go to Add-Ons then Themes, you should see the Assassin’s Creed Odyssey theme in there somewhere.
Step 9: Download the Assassin’s Creed Odyssey theme to your PS4. You can then log back in to your UK account, go to Settings > Themes and apply your awesome new Assassin’s Creed Odyssey theme.
And that’s all there is to it to create a US PSN account and get the free Assassin;s Creed Odyssey theme. I’m not sure if the theme will be free forever, it may be a limited time deal.
A US PSN account is very handy, as the US PS Store has other cracking themes on there. If you’re a trophy hunter, you can also download certain cheap games for easy and cheap platinums, even if you already have the European version of the platinum, as some games have separate trophy lists for the EU and US.
