My prayers have been answered, my favourite game of this year, Horizon Zero Dawn, is finally getting a long-awaited DLC.
I posted a while back about Why Horizon Zero Dawn needs a DLC and praise The Lord, a DLC has finally been revealed.
The DLC will be called ‘The Frozen Wilds’ and takes place in a brand new area full of snow, ice and mountains, possibly the Banuk area is being explored more.
It would seem that ‘The Frozen Wilds’ DLC will be very much story focused. We will again take control of the main protagonist, Aloy who is seeking further answers. The trailer mentions a creature which guards a mountain, perhaps we will encounter another Metal Devil or some other metal monstrosity of a monster which we will need to defeat.
There no word yet on how long the DLC will be in terms of gameplay time but it should be enough to satisfy our hunger for more Horizon Zero Dawn.
Beyond the northern mountains, the borderlands of the Banuk tribe challenge all who dare enter to survive the extremes. But now this frozen wilderness harbors a new threat, and for Aloy, a new mystery – one she’s determined to solve.
As well as a new story and quests the DLC will most likely have new weapons, armour to earn as well as new, interesting characters to interact with.
I am very much looking forward to ‘The Frozen Wilds’, I have been itching for more Horizon awesomeness since completing it.
‘The Frozen Wilds’ is due to release sometime this year, I will be eagerly awaiting any new details of this exciting DLC.

It seems that Horizon Zero Dawn: The Frozen Wilds is now available for pre-order, on the US PlayStation store.
As you can see, ‘The Frozen Wilds’ is currently available for pre-order with a base price of $19.99 discounted to $14.99 for PS Plus members. The US PS Store also states that it will be released on December 31st, 2017.
‘The Frozen Wilds’ does not yet appear to be on the UK/Europe PlayStation store, I have tweeted to Guerilla Games and PlayStation UK to try and find out when it will be on the UK store and if we will get the same PS Plus discount.
