After many rumours a leak by the ESRB that pretty much confirmed it, Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered has been officially revealed. The remaster of the 2017 game by Guerrilla Games that made us fall in love with Nora Brave Aloy hits PS5 on October 31st complete with shiny new graphics. Check out the trailer below.
Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered contains over 10 hours of re-recorded dialogue and many graphics improvements to bring it up to the same visual fidelity as Horizon Forbidden West. The story’s characters have also had a facelift, bringing them in line with current-generation advances in character models and rendering Guerrilla explains on the PlayStation Blog.
As well as the visual improvements you would expect with a remaster like this, Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered also has many audio improvements as well.
The audio experience in Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered has been significantly enhanced. We’ve completely revamped the sound mix, now supporting PS5 Tempest 3D Audio Tech for higher-order ambisonics and Atmos rendering for an immersive soundscape. Our sound design has also seen major improvements, with hundreds of improvements both in-game and in the cinematics.
Of course, Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered will also take advantage of the PS5 DUalSense haptics and adaptive triggers. This ensures incredible immersion during tense combat. Custom haptics have been integrated throughout the game for even more immersion.
Some of the excellent accessibility features that were included with Horizon Forbidden West have also made their way to the remastered Horizon Zero Dawn. These include remappable controls, haptic cues, and various assist toggles that will enable all players to fully enjoy the game.
Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered will also include native support for the PS5 Pro.

Enjoy Aloy’s origin story all over again
If you are a massive fan of the Horizon franchise from Guerrilla Games then you can enjoy playing Aloy’s origin story all over again when it launches for PS5 and PC on October 31st. The remaster, which has been carefully polished and re-crafted by PlayStation Studio Nixxes is certain to look and play great on PS5.
Owners of the original game on PS4 will be able to upgrade for $9.99. The UK upgrade price wasn’t stated but we assume £9.99. Pre-orders for the remaster start on October 3rd and there will be a physical release as well. Your old PS4 save file will also work, so you can play new game+ or dive into photo mode with all your previously collected outfits.
