A new PS5 system software update is now out. Version: 25.03-11.20.00 includes a new Audio Focus feature and brings back the much-requested classic interface designs and sounds from PS1, PS2, PS3 and PS4.
Fans have been requesting the return of the classic PlayStation user interfaces since Sony included them to celebrate PlayStation’s 30th anniversary. This latest system update for PS5 now includes the option to select a classic UI to apply to your home screen, but it seems to be missing the boot-up screens and sounds. The classic boot-up screens seem to be what fans really wanted back, especially the original PlayStation boot-up.
To change your home screen to one of the classic PlayStation options, go to Settings > System > Appearance > Appearance and Sound and then select a classic UI that you want.
Apart from the return of the classic PlayStation UI for your home screen, the latest update also has a feature called Audio Focus. With Audio Focus, you can choose from presets that will increase immersion by amplifying soft sounds to meet your hearing requirements. This makes for a clearer audio experience when using headsets and headphones.
