NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139... PS4 release date annoucned at Tokyo Game Show

Today at the Tokyo Game Show (TGS) publisher Square Enix announced that NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139… will be releasing on PlayStation 4 on 23rd April 2021.

NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139… is a modern take on the original NieR Replicant game which launched in Japan in 2010, and is the prequel to 2017s NieR: Automata.

Square Enix have released a new trailer and the developers Toyslogic showed off some gameplay at TGS 2020.

Back in March, Square Enix broke the news that NieR Replicant was in development for PS4. Now we have confirmation that the game will be arriving fairly soon.

NieR Replicant is an action RPG set in a dark, apocalyptical world. In the game, you will join a brothers quest to cure his sister of a deadly disease.

NieR Automata Prequel

NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139… is the prequel to NieR Automata, which had its release on PS4 in 2017. If you’ve never played it, I highly recommend picking it up, it is an absolutely brilliant game with amazing combat and a really great story.

You can pick up NieR Automata Game of the YoRHa Edition for pretty cheap.

NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139… Release Date and Pre-Order Bonuses

NieR Replicant can be pre-ordered from the Square Enix store, a digital edition will also be available from the PlayStation Store.

The PS4 pre-order comes with a couple of nice bonuses. You will get a dynamic theme and avatar set as well as a digital mini soundtrack. If the soundtrack is anything like NieR Automata, it will be mind-blowing.

The latest NieR game also has a rather pricey collectors edition called the “White Snow Edition” which is priced at a hefty £149.99. Given the price tag, the White Snow Edition does come with fancy physical goodies.

NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139… will release on PS4 on April 23rd, 2021. Square Enix hasn’t mentioned anything about a PS5 version yet. I have emailed their PR team to ask if one is on the horizon.

Even if the game doesn’t have a specific PS5 release, it should still be playable via backwards compatibility anyway.

Check out some staggeringly beautiful screenshots from the game on the game page.
