Square Enix has announced that the game that was teased as Project Athia is now called Forspoken and will release in 2022. Project Athai was originally announced during the PS5 reveal event last June now the official title and some more details on the game have been confirmed.
Forspoken stars British actress Ella Balinska (Charlie’s Angels) as the lead character Frey Holland.
Forspoken will be a narrative-driven adventure game set in a beautiful yet cruel world. The game will put players in the shoes of Frey Holland, an ordinary young woman who must harness her magical abilities to survive in a fantastical and dangerous land called Athia.
Frey takes centre stage in Forspoken, exploring an unknown world and facing treacherous trials to unravel the mystery behind Athia.
As well as announcing the official title for the game, Square Enix also released the trailer above and some cool screenshots. The game publisher also tweeted a short video of lead character Frey doing some cool looking traversal across the world of Athia.

Forspoken is currently in development by Luminous Productions and will be published by Square Enix. The game has been designed for the PS5 and will take full advantage of the console’s features according to the Square Enix press release.
