PlayStation’s new loyalty program PlayStation Stars has rolled out in Asian territories two days ago. This gave us an early look at how the loyalty program looks on the PlayStation App. And an idea of what to expect when it rolls out to the US and Europe later this month.

As this is the first day of October, a new campaign has been launched in Asia for PlayStation Stars. The October check-in campaign simply requires you to play a PS4 or PS5 game. The reward for completing this campaign is the famous T.rex Tech Demo from the original PlayStation console.

The description of the Tyrannosaurus Rex Tech Demo digital collectable reads: “A scientifically accurate mini statue of the tech demo T. rex from the original PlayStation.”

The T. rex tech demo is pretty iconic as it showed the graphical power of the original PlayStation. The T. rex tech demo also featured as the end-game boss in PS5’s Astro’s Playroom.

It is not known if this particular digital collectable will also be a reward when the PlayStation Stars program launches in the US and Europe. But I really hope it is as the T. rex tech demo was awe-inspiring when I first saw it on My PS1 many years ago.

PlayStation Stars has already proved to be a bit controversial. With reports of Asian members being a bit annoyed at prioritised support if you reach level 4 in the loyalty program.

PlayStation Stars is due to launch in the US on October 5th and the UK, Europe, Australia and New Zealand on October 13th.
