PS4’s Dreams To Be Used To Make A Film

Media Molecule’s Dreams to be used to make animated movie ‘A Winter’s Journey’

A Winter's Journey made in Dreams

Dreams for PS4 is an amazing game/art creation/game creation tool. The Media Molecule developed Dreams, which launched on PS4 in February 202 has been used by artists and amateur game developers (and pros) to create some amazing games and interactive art.

Now, for the first time, Dreams will be used to make an actual movie. Deadline reports a film called A Winters Journey, which will blend live-action with CG and painted animations.

It is not specified how much of the movie will be made in Dreams. But as it is part CG then most, if not all of the computer graphics parts could be made in Media Molecules game. Dreams has already been used by talented creators to create some very realistic looking environments.

A Winter’s Journey follows a poet who undertakes a hazardous walk across mountains, ice, and snow – a journey that will bring either death or a new life.

As well as using Media Molecules Dreams for the film, A Winter’s Journey is produced by Jorg Tittle and Phillip Munger of London-based studio Oiffy (The Last Worker).

A Winter’s Journey, which is expected to release in 2023 stars John Malkovich and is directed by Alex Helfrecht. The film will be released by Sony Pictures Classics.
