Earlier this week PS5 Pro pre-orders went live. The PS5 mid-gen refresh promises a better GPU, enhanced ray-tracing and AI-driven upscaling using PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution(PSSR.) Although Sony themselves have been praising the console’s power, I haven’t seen many developers chiming in to sing its praises.
But one developer of a very famous and long-lived PlayStation game has said that the PS5 Pro “absolutely rocks.” Martin Griffiths is the engine programmer for Hello Games’ No Man’s Sky, a game which has been a mainstay on PlayStation since its launch in 2016. No Man’s Sky has not only been on PS4 and PSVR it’s also on PS5 and PSVR2. It is also one of the current roster of games to have the PS5 Pro Enhanced label.
Posting on X Griffiths explained that he has been through every PlayStation generation since PS1 before proclaiming that the PS5 Pro “absolutely rocks.”
PS5 Pro is due to launch on November 7th. It can be pre-ordered from PlayStation Direct just now although pre-orders at other retailers will begin on October 10th. The PS5 Pro is priced at £699 GBP/£699 USD/€799 EUR. It does not come with a disc drive however and you’ll need to fork out another £99.99 if you want to play physical games on it.
