Snooker 19 and Pure Pool publisher Ripstone has announced the successor to 2014’s Pure Pool, Pure Pool Pro will be coming to PS5 and PS5 Pro this year. Ripstone says Pure Pool Pro will have stunning 8K visuals, including ray-traced reflections and shadows. Check out the announcement trailer below.
The evolution of pool simulation
Fans of pool, snooker and cue sports games will be thrilled to hear about Pure Pool Pro coming to PlayStation this year. Pure Pool is one of my favourite games to chill out with, and I can’t wait to see what improvement Ripstone and developer Rockwater bring to the table.
With Pure Pool Pro there will be a brand new 1000-seat Pool arena called the Tetradome. A spectacularly detailed venue that imagines the future of professional Pool. Players who have played the original Pure Poool will also feel at home as the classic Pure Pool arena has now been remastered with cutting edge graphics to match the intensity of the Tetradome.
As well as eye-popping 8K graphics and ray-tracing, Pure Pool Pro has also been completely redesigned with a brand new interface and in-game menu system that makes every action seamless and intuitive. The new interface and menu design mean you spend less time waiting and more time playing. The game is being redesigned for a next-gen look and feel.
Improvements to the interface and visuals aren’t all that Pure Pool Pro is offering; there are also improvements to the AI opponents that make them smarter and more reactive. Each AI opponent has a unique personality and strategy, which will keep players on their toes.
Pure Pool Pro game modes
Pure Pool Pro will feature multiple different game modes, including single player campaign modes, challenge modes and tournaments and leaderboards.
Campaign Mode – Progress through hundreds of events spanning 8-Ball, 9-Ball, Blackball, and Killer.
Challenge Modes – Test your prowess in frantic mini-games like Speed Pot, Checkpoint, and Royal Rumble.
Tournaments & Leaderboards – Climb the global ranks, face the world’s best in scheduled tournaments, and unlock exclusive rewards as you dominate the leaderboards.
For players wanting to take the challenge online, Pure Pool Pro has improved the multiplayer experience. You can now enter real-time online matches with crossplay to play players from around the world. Or challenge your friends to a frame or two, or prove your potting skills in ranked play.
And just like Pure Pool before it, Pure Pool Pro will let you earn XP when you play, allowing you to customise things like cues, balls, baize colours and table designs. NIce.
Snooker Mode
Players of Pure Pool on PS4 will remember the Snooker pack that launched some time after the game’s release. Well, there is good news for Snooker fans as Ripstone has confirmed that Pure Pool Pro will also be getting a Snooker DLC shortly after launch.
Pure Pool Pro will be on for PS5 and PS5 Pro later this year and can be wishlisted on the PlayStation Store right now.
