Rockstar Annoucnes GTA 5 PS5 Release Date

Grand Theft Auto 5 now spans three console generations. Launches March 15th for PS5

GTA 5 PS5 release date revealed

If you haven’t played Grand Theft Auto 5’s lengthy single-player campaign or poured hundreds of hours into GTA Online yet and you own a PS5 then you are in luck. Rockstar Games has announced that GTA V for PS5 will release on 15th March.

But let’s face it, you probably have already played GTA V. You’ve possibly bought it at least once, maybe on PS4. Or, perhaps like me, you’ve bought it twice. Once on PS3 and then again on PS4.

GTA 5 PS3, PS4 games

I probably won’t buy Grand Theft Auto 5 again for PS5, unless there is a boxed retail release and I wait a few years until it’s on sale. Rockstar hasn’t said how much the PS5 version of their blockbuster game will be, or whether there will be a free or paid upgrade option for PS4 owners. I’m sure we’ll get that info shortly though.

GTA 5 PS5 Enhancements

If you absolutely must buy GAT 5 on PS5, here are the enhancements the game will be getting on current-gen consoles.

New graphics modes with up to 4K resolution & up to 60 frames-per-second will be present. There will also be texture and draw distance upgrades, HDR options and Ray Tracing. Faster loading times will also be par for the course with GTA 5 on PS5 as will 3D Audio and haptic feedback, and much more.

If you have already sunk a lot of time into the GTA 5 story campaign or GTA Online, Rockstar says you will be able to transfer your progress over to the PS5 version. A standalone version of GTA Online for PS5 will also be available at launch and will be free for PS Plus subscribers for the first three months.

There will also be a host of improvements to GTA Online on PS5, read about them on Rockstar’s website.
