Several PlayStation Studios Are Making Games Using Guerrilla’s Decima Engine

Several PlayStation Studios is currently making games in Guerrilla Games’ Decima Engine PlayStation Studios head Herman Hulst has said.

The PlayStation Studios head honcho recently told Japanese gaming outlet Famitsu that several studios under the PlayStation Studios banner are currently using the Decima Engine which was developed by Guerrilla Games.

“Of course, there is also the sharing of technology, for example, there are several studios using Guerrilla Games’ Decima engine,” Hulst said while explaining how the studios collaborate with each other.

The Decima Engine is a proprietary game engine developed by Guerilla games and was released in 2013. It has been used to make games such as Killzone: Shadow Fall, Horizon Zero Dawn, and Hideo Kojima’s Death Stranding among others. Most recently an updated version of the engine was used for Horizon Forbidden West.

The upcoming PS VR2 game Horizon Call of the Mountain is also using the Decima Engine.

It is not currently known what in-development games are currently being made using the Decima Engine. But one of them could be the rumoured Horizon Multiplayer/live-service game.
