Sony Pictures Virtual Reality seems to be teasing something Starship Troopers-related for PlayStation VR2. In a post on the company’s X account, a short video of General Rico (played by Casper Van Dien) urges recruits to be here on September 30th for a “big announcement.”
At the end of the video, the actor puts on a PSVR2 headset. So what could this mean? I have no clue. A new Starship Troopers PSVR2 game? That would be the most likely guess. Or perhaps the new Starship Troopers Extermination game is going to be getting a VR mode, a la Resident Evil Village and Resident Evil 4.
Starship Troopers: Extermination seems like the logical answer as the game is heading to PS5 on October 11th. IGN recently reported that the game is also getting a single-player campaign starring Casper Van Dien, who played Hognny Rico in the movie. So maybe the single-player campaign will be playable in VR? I guess we’ll find out on September 30th.
