Team Asobi of Astro’s Playroom Fame is the Newest PlayStation Studio

We need more Astro Bot

Team Asobi are the newest PlayStation Studio

Astro Bot Rescue Mission and Astro’s Playroom developer Team Asobi is the newest addition to the PlayStation Studios family. In a blog post over on the PlayStation Blog, Studio and Creative Director Nicola Doucet shared the news and some more info on the Tokyo-based team.

Doucet says that while Team Asobi is growing and taking on bigger challenges, their mission at heart remains the same as ever. “[to] bring you PlayStation magic, innovation and put smiles on your faces with fun, colorful games for all ages.”

Team Asobi is the newst members of PlayStation Studios

Team Asobi also revealed their new logo (above) which features our favorite wee bot Astro.

Team Asobi was first put together in 2012 with a few of the team working on tech demos. A few years later they launched the PSVR game Astro Bot Rescue mission (which is amazing) and of course Astro’s Playroom for the PS5.

Nicolas Doucet mentions in the blog post that a lot of the Team Asobi staff are from Japan. But the team is also made up of talented people from other countries. The UK is represented in the team by members from England and Scotland.

We also have several members coming from various other countries: England, Germany, France, Scotland, Korea, Spain, and Colombia.

Doucet says it’s important for them to have a team from a diverse background as it helps them create games that are universal.

With Team Asobi being officially part of the PlayStation Studios family now. And with their ongoing growth, it looks like more Astro Bot games are on the horizon. I really hope they make Astro Bot Rescue MIsion 2 for the PSVR 2.
