IGN reports that Sony is aware of the issue and is looking into it. Final Fantasy publisher Square Enix has taken to X/Twitter to address the issue IGN also reported. “We are currently working with Sony Interactive Entertainment to investigate, and sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused. Please await our further updates.” Square Enix posted.

Some PS5 Slim disc drives are also broken by the latest PS5 system update
The update isn;t just causing weird graphical glitches in some games, Does it play? on X is reporting that the latest PS5 firmware update may potentially break your PS5 Slim disc drive. The problem is causing some PS5 slim disc drives, which were updated at the latest firmware update, to stop reading discs.
The latest PS5 system update brought some nice new features to the PS5, including a welcome hub where you can customise widgets and change the background. This is on a phased release however and this feature hasn’t landed on UK and European PS5s just yet.
The update also added Party sharing (also a phased release) where you can send voice chat links to friends you are talking with on other social media apps and invite them to your PS5 voice party. Also included with the latest firmware were personalised 3D audio profiles and adaptive controller charging for the PS5 Slim and PS5 Pro when it comes out.
Although the latest PS5 system update has added some nice, new features, it seems to have broken some things as well. No doubt Sony will be releasing another update shortly.
