If you hark back to the early ’90s and the heyday of the Commodore Amiga, you fondly remember the Turrican games. Classic run and gun, platforming shooters that that took the world by storm. Now the Turrican games are back, with four classic titles in one neat package – Turrican Flashback.

The games feature reworked modern controls that work extremely well on the PS4 with the DualShock controller. The developer’s Factor 5 and Ratalaika Games have also done a great job providing additional customisation options. If you want to dive into the old school experience there are various filters and display options that can make the game image look like an old CRT screen.
The Turrican games feature massive, explorable levels and there are plenty of secret areas to find. There’s also plenty of challenge to be had as the Turrican games are certainly no pushover. If you’re finding things a bit tough you can always use the rewind feature to skip back and time and avoid losing a life. There are also some old school cheats you can use to make things a bit easier, you can find these right in the game menu. But remember, if you use the rewind feature or cheats, you won’t earn trophies.

Turrican Flashback on PS5 via Backwards Compatability
During my time playing the four Turrican games included in Turrican Flashback, I also tested them out on PS5. The games work perfectly on PS5 via backwards compatibility and there is even improvements on loading times.
