Insomniac Games has announced that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has gone gold ahead of its release on October 20th. This basically means that the game is finished and is ready to be released into the hands of PlayStation fans all over the world.
When a developer or publisher says that a game has “gone gold” it means that the game is at a stage where it is ready to be released to the game-playing masses. Everything the developer wants to have in the game is in the game and there won’t be any last-minute delays.
The imminent launch of Spider-Man 2 and the excitement and hype surrounding the game have hit fever pitch. With numerous outlets doing previews and the PlayStation Blog detailing how Spider-Man 2 taps into the power of PS5.
Optional fall damage & you can see the other Spider-Man while you’re swinging through the city
In other Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 news, the game will have a new feature where the Spider-Men can take fall damage. As reported by Games Radar, Insomniac Games has added a new feature to Spider-Man 2 that means your Spider-Man will take fall damage when falling from certain heights. In previous Spider-man games, Spidey could free fall and pretty much land on their feet unscathed. But in Spider-Man 2 the introduction of fall damage adds a bit more risk and danger to your web swinging. But if you don’t fancy causing your Spider-Man serious damage by falling, you can turn this feature off in the game settings.
In Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 you play as both Peter Parker’s Spider-Man and Miles MOrales’ Spider-Man throughout the game. Insomniac Games’ AssociateAnimation Director has revealed that while you are swinging around Marvel’s New York City you will be able to see the other Spider-Man in action. “There are times when you can be swinging throughout the city and you can see the other Spider-Man Sometimes actively doing something or stopping a crime.”
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 launches on October 20th, exclusively on PlayStation 5.
