Another new week brings us a load of new PS5, PSVR2 and PS4 games. This week sees a couple of big-name games and quite a few PSVR2 games for PlayStation VR fans to enjoy.
On the PS5 front this week 4 v 4 online shooter FOAMSTARS makes its debut courtesy of PlayStation Plus. The FOAMSTARS party begins on February 6th on both PS5 and PS4.
Also out this week is another online game and part of PlayStation’s live-service games push – Helldivers 2. Helldivers 2 is a co-op PvE shooter that has been described as being a bit like Starship Troopers. I’m not much into online games these days but you can play Helldivers 2 solo if you like and it’s only £35 on Amazon. So it might be worth a try.
VR a go-go
It’s a pretty big release week for PSVR2 games this week. The likes of Mixture, Border Bots VR and Legendary Tales are all coming out this week to keep PSVR2 fans happy. Legendary Tales was shown off at last week’s State of Play and I must admit it looks pretty good. But it is multiplayer so that kind of put me off a bit. But I’m sure other people will love it.
Mixture from Played With Fire is an interesting-sounding game. It’s billed as a self-cop game, a single-player VR fusion of two characters where you play as two characters at once I guess. It’s a fantasy action-adventure game where you travel through five biomes with combat, secrets and challenges that culminate in giant boss fights. Sounds pretty interesting indeed. (Turns out this was delayed, it’s impossible to keep up with game release dates with developers and publishers changing the goalposts constantly – The new release date should be March 1st, maybe.)
Also coming to PSVR2 this week is Border Bots VR, Dead Hook and Bartender VR Simulator.
