It’s good news for PS5 fans eagerly awaiting more news about the upcoming action-adventure game Stellar Blade. According to an article published by the Korean site Game Chosun, Stellar Blade developer SHIFT UP has signed a publishing deal with Sony Interactive Entertainment.
The article states that Korean Developer SHIFT UP has announced that they will collaborate with Sony Interactive Entertainment to introduce Stellar Blade on the PS5 console around the world. Essentially this seems to be a publishing deal. The article further states that SHIFT UP now becomes the first ever Korean developer to become a second-party partner of Sony.
Stellar Blade was first introduced during the PlayStation Showcase in 2021. Then it was called Project EVE. Then during the September 2022 State of Play, a new story trailer was premiered, along with the new name, Stellar Blade.
In Stellar Blade you play as Eve, a survivor of an attack on Earth by invaders called the NA:tives. The invaders decimate Earth and expel its inhabitants. Eve and her comrades land on the surface to reclaim the extinct Earth and cross paths with a survivor named Adam. Eve is then led by Adam to the last surviving city, Xion, where she meets the elder of the town Orcal and is told many stories. In order to serve her mission to save Earth, Eve develops close relationships with the key members of Xion and contributes to rebuilding the city.
From the gameplay that has been shown, Stellar Blade looks quite amazing. Combat is fast and flowing and the graphics look pretty stellar. It’s certainly a game to look forward to.
SHIFT UP hasn’t revealed a release date or even a release window yet for Stellar Blade. But now that a publishing deal has been reached with Sony, it might not be too long until we find out some more details about this exciting game.
