When The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered was officially announced on the PlayStation Blog, it detailed some bonus content that would be included. A new roguelike mode called No Return will be included in the remaster as well as a cool playable guitar section. But that’s not all, for fans wanting to get a peak behind the scenes of development Naughty Dog is also including Lost Levels.
“Lost Levels in Part II Remastered allow players a unique chance to check out some playable sequences previously cut from the game,” said Naughty Dog. What these Lost Levels will be has now been revealed on the PlayStation Store (via IGN).
In the PS Blog post, Naughty Dog said that the Lost Levels aren’t fully finished levels but rather “early development slices.” These slices give players and fans a new glimpse into the world of The Last of Us Part 2. Lost Levels will also include developer commentary to give them a richer contact Naughty DOg said.
The first Lost Level is called Sewers, and fans think this will put Ellie back into the murky depths of what was one of the scariest parts of the game. The second Lost Level is called Jackson Party, although we’re sure it won’t all be streamers, music and paper plates with bits of cake on them. The third Lost Level is called Boar Hunt, which I would take a guess and say is possibly like the level in The Last of Us Part 1 where Ellie has to hunt a Deer.
No Return WIll Have 12 Levels
On other The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered news it has also been revealed that the No Return Roguelike mode will have 12 levels.
A Twitter user called Joanastic (via Insider Gaming) spotted a Naughty Dog QA Tester’s LinkedIn profile. In the LinkedIn profile, the QA Tester describes various tasks done on the Remastered game “across 12 different No Return roguelike level layouts.”
The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered will be released on January 19th 2024 for PS5. Owners of the PS4 version of the game will be able to upgrade for £10/$10.
