Gearbox Software co-founder Randy Pitchford has posted some pictures to Twitter that show the Godfall retail box and PS5 disc. The businessman claims that Godfall is the first-to-manufacture next-gen retail game in the world.
Attention fellow game lovers, peers and enthusiasts: Behold the first Playstation 5 game! Hot off the presses, this is the first to manufacture next gen retail game in the world. Congratulations to Counterplay Games and the team here at Gearbox Publishing! pic.twitter.com/ki9YbynRIe

In the photos posted to his Twitter account, Randy can be seen holding the Godfall Ascended Edition PS5 retail box, complete with shiny new plastic wrap. The Gearbox co-founder is also holding the Godfall Ascended Edition printed PS5 disc, which is printed on a 4K UHD Blu-ray Disc.
The photos also let us see what’s inside the Ascended Edition retail box.

While it’s difficult to verify his claim of Godfall being the first-to-manufacture next-gen game, it certainly must be one of the earliest, if not the first.
Godfall is due to release for PS5 on November 12th in the USA and on November 19th in the UK and Europe. It can be pre-ordered now from Amazon.
