Scottish Games Awards nominated games you can play on PlayStation

As part of Scottish Games Week, which is running from October 30th to November 3rd, the Scottish Games Awards 2023 will be highlighting talent and excellence in games.

The Scottish Games Awards will take place at Platform in Glasgow on Thursday, November 2nd. The nominated finalists include big-budget and small-budget games. The awards categories also cover things like Best Games Educator and Community Spirit Awards.

Making its debut during Scottish Games Week in 2022, The Scottish Games Awards has grown significantly this year. With more categories and more entrants.

One of my favourite PS VR2 games from this year is also up for an award. BLINNK and the Vacuum of Space from Glasgow developer Changingday has been nominated for the Pure Quality award.

Other games available on PlayStation have also been nominated across various categories. Here are all the nominated games from The Scottish Games Awards 2023 that you can play on PlayStation.

Viewfinder is a mind-bending first-person adventure game in which you can bring pictures to life by placing them into the world. IGN gave it a pretty great review and said this of the game: “What Viewfinder lacks in story substance and compelling characters it more than makes up for via the pure, mind-boggling exhilaration of its perspective-warping puzzle solving.”

Last, but certainly not least is BLINNK and the Vacuum of Space. The Autism-friendly VR game from Glasgow-based Changingday was released on PS VR2 last month. The game sees you team up with the lovable robot BLINNK to complete various tasks and find little creatures called Groobs who have escaped from BLINNK’s lab.

In my review, I praised BLINNK’s simple yet fun and satisfying gameplay. I also praised the voice acting talent who brought the characters to life and made the dialogue fun and humorous. Here’s how I summed up BLINNK and the Vacuum of Space in my review:

BLINNK and the Vacuum of Space is fantastic first game from Glasgow-based developer Changingday. It is fun, friendly and relaxed with simple yet interesting gameplay mechanics and a host of fantastic characters to keep you entertained. My time with BLINNK was very positive and I hope to see more from this litle robot and from Changingday.
