The physical version of Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition will apparently come on two discs. That’s according to an image posted to X by Does it Play? If the complete Edition of Horizon Forbidden West does indeed have two discs, that will make it the first ever PS5 game to come on two discs.
The image posted by Does it Play seemingly shows the back of the Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition game box. The packaging displays an icon that shows that the game comes on 2 discs.
Larger PS4 games, such as Cyberpunk 2077, and Red Dead Redemption 2 came on two discs, but the PS5 is yet to have a physical game that came on more the one disc. Even though some PS5 games can be a bit larger due to the 4K assets, physical copies have always been on one disc.
In fact, EA courted a bit of controversy prior to the launch of Star Wars Jedi Survivor when it was revealed that the game would not be on the disc. But would require a download.
Everything on the disc
If Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition does indeed come on two discs, then this will mean that the game can be played completely offline. So even if you do not have an internet connection, you can still install and enjoy the game.
Guerrilla Games recently confirmed on Twitter that everything in the Complete Edition would be “on the disc.” But they never mentioned that it would be two discs.
It is currently not known if one disc will be a data disc and the other a play disc. Or if you will have to insert the second disc to play the Burning Shores DLC.
It is unclear exactly what regions the physical version of Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition will be available in or if it will be available at the same time as the digital version on October 6th. I can’t find a copy in UK retailers nor is it showing up on Amazon.com.
Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition comes to PS5 on October 6th with PC versions planned or early next year.
