Prominent gaming insider talkshow host Jeff Grub has “heard” that there will be a State of Play or Showcase in May featuring Silent Hill 2.

“I have heard that there will be a PlayStation… something – either a State of Play or a Showcase – in May, so this [Silent Hill 2] is probably going to be there,” Grubb said.

Silent Hill 2 recently got rated M by the ESRB, so it is possible that a release announcement could be coming soon. The remake has been up for pre-order on Amazon UK since November last year, as reported by PlayStation Fanantic at the time. In the UK and Europe, the game has a provisional PEGI rating of 18 but has not yet been officially rated.

Gameplay from Silent Hill 2 last appeared on January’s PlayStation State of Play.

Silent Hill 2 is a remake of the original 2001 PS2 game. It will be coming to PS5 and PC. The remake is being developed by horror-game specialist Bloober Team.
