A surprise new Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 trailer dropped last night during the State of Play broadcast. The new trailer shows us more of Marvel’s expanded New York and gives us a glimpse of what open-world gameplay will be like when Spider-Man 2 launches on October 20th.
Here are the main details in brief;
- Spider-Man 2’s open world is nearly double the size with the addition of Queens and Brooklyn
- You will be able to switch between Peter Parker and Miles Morales nearly instantaneously in the open world
- Each Spider-Man will have their own side stories to find throughout the city
- Spider-Man 2 will feature 65 suits with fan favourites from comics, movies and original designs
A Bigger Open World
The expanded New York City in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has nearly doubled in size compared to the previous games. Spider-Man 2’s New York now includes the New York boroughs of Queens and Brooklyn. With the addition of the new Web WIngs mechanic coupled with Web Swinging, you’ll be able to traverse the massive open world super fast and like never before.
You Can Switch Between the two Spider-Men in the open world
Thanks to the power of PlayStation 5 you’ll be able to switch almost instantly between the two Spider heroes when in the open world. Each hero will also have their own side stories to discover throughout New York. Additionally, the upgraded Friendly Neighbourhood Spider-Man will include incoming requests from New York citizens. Some requests will ask for either Spider-Man to help them out while others will ask for a specific hero.
Suits You
Spider-Man 2 will have customisation options galore so your Spider-Man can look super stylish while traversing New York or kicking villain’s teeth in. The game will feature 65 suits, including 10 you can get from the digital deluxe edition. Hopefully, we’ll be able to unlock these in-game without buying the pricey edition.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will also have a new customisation feature called Suit Styles. With Suit Styles, you can unlock new colour shades for some suits which gives you over 200 options to outfit your Spider-Man to be ready for the Met Gala.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is set to be the biggest game of the year and looks more amazing with every new trailer and screenshot I see. With new Marvel enemies and all-new skills and abilities like Peter Parker’s Symbiote powers and Spider arms and Miles’ Bioelectric Venom powers Spider-Man 2 is going to be any superhero fan’s ultimate fantasy.
