PS VR2 is head-sets and shoulders above the rest

Last night’s Golden Joystick Awards were a big deal for PlayStation VR2. Not only did PS VR2 exclusive launch game Horizon Call of the Moutain win Best VR Game, but PS VR2 has also won Best Gaming Hardware.

PlayStation VR2 launched in February this year and between the hardware and games it is racking up the awards. Sony’s second generation of VR headset makes players feel a new real with its 4K OLED display, headset haptics, Sense controller haptics, adaptive triggers and excellent eye-tracking functionality. Of course, PS VR2 is also powered by the PS5 making its games feel even more reel than before.

Just like Horizon Call of the Mountain, PlayStation VR2 was nominated in a category filled with tough competition. For Best Gaming Hardware PS VR2 was up against, Turtle Beach’s Stealth Pro Headset, an Alienware monitor, whatever the hell a Nitro Deck is and a Samsung M.2 hard drive. So it is no surprise really that PS VR2 won the award.

Other PlayStation-related winners at the 41st Golden Joystick Awards included Resident Evil 4 for best PlayStation Game. Baldur’s Gate 3 also won big taking home the Ultimate Game of the Year Award as well as Best Storytelling and Best Community awards. Hello Game’s o Man’s Sky, which first launched on PS4 in 2016 took home the Still Playing Award. And popular JRPG Sea of Stars, which launched day one on PlayStation Plus won the Best Indie Game award.
