On February 14th 2024, you’ll get to play the original Tomb Raider game that made Lara Croft the icon she is today. When it was originally released on PS1 back in 1996, I remember being awe-struck by the first Tomb Raider game. At the time, the graphics and gameplay were like nothing I had seen before. And the action combined with exploration and puzzle solving just blew my mind.

Tomb Raider 2 was released in 1997, also on PS1. Just before Tomb Raider 2 came out Sony Computer Entertainment struck a deal with publisher Eidos to make the game and future Tomb Raider games exclusive to PlayStation up until the year 2000. Tomb Raider 2 sees Lara travel around the world trying to retrieve the legendary Dagger of Zian, which is said to grant its holder the powers of a fire-breathing Dragon.

Tomb Raider 3 was originally launched in 1998 and was a PS1 exclusive thanks to the deal previously struck between Sony and Eidos. In the third installment, Lara follows the clues to a deadly secret in this complex adventure combining challenging puzzles with high-speed action.

Tomb Raider I-III Remastered will launch on February 14, 2024.
