CD Projekt Red has announced that its free next-gen update for The Witcher III: Wild Hunt will be out for PS5 on December 14th. The PS5 version will be a free update for anyone who owns the PS4 version of the game.
Developer CD Projekt Red has said that this new, next-gen version of their hit RPG is enhanced for next-gen (current-gen) consoles and will feature ray tracing, faster loading times on consoles and dozens of other visual, performance and technical enhancements.
A variety of mods will also be integrated into the game as well as new additional content inspired by The Witcher Netflix series.
The next-gen version of The Witcher III: Wild Hunt – Complete Edition will be available digitally on PS5. It will feature all free DLCs released to date and both major expansions; Hearts of Stone and Blood & Wine. If you already own The Witcher III on PS4 then the new version will be completely free.
For PS4 owners of The Witcher III who haven’t made the move to PS5 yet you will also get a free update.. The free PS4 update will include numerous additions and improvements as well as the aforementioned The Witcher Netflix series-themed content.
CD Projekt Red will be broadcasting on Twitch next week to provide more details and show off a gameplay reveal of the next-gen version of The Witcher III.
