Top PlayStation Store Downloads for August Revealed

PlayStation has revealed the most downloaded games on the PlayStation Store for August 2023. The most downloaded lists cover PS5 games, PS4 games, PS VR2, PS VR and free-to-play games for both the US/Canada and Europe.

PS5 Top Downloads for August

For PS5 games, Madden NFL 24 tops the most downloaded list for the US and Canada while Grand Theft Auto V tops the Europe list. From Software’s Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon is second on the US/Canada list and fourth on the European list.

PS4 Top Downloads for August

On PS4 Minecraft was the most downloaded game in August for both the US/Canada and Europe. The Red Dead Redemption Remaster is the second most downloaded PS4 game in Europe and the third most downloaded across the Atlantic.

PS VR2 Top Downloads for August

On the PS VR2 front, Firewall Ultra was the most downloaded game for both the US/Canada and Europe. I opted to buy Crossfire: Sierra Squad over Firewall after reading some, not too favourable impressions on Reddit. Crossfire: Sierra Squad was the fourth most downloaded PS VR2 game in both the US/Canada and Europe.

Pavlov, which is still arguably the best PS VR2 shooter out there was the second most downloaded PS VR2 game in Europe and third most downloaded game in the US and Canada.

PS VR Top Downloads for August

Even though PlayStation VR2 has been out for 7 months now the original PS VR is still getting some love and people are still buying games for it. The Walking Dead Onslaught, which is;t as good as The Walking Dead Saints & SInners noenthelss is the most downloaded PS VR game in August.

The quite frankly amazing Astro Bot Rescue Mission is the second most downloaded PS VR title in the US & Canada. How I envy those getting to experience that masterpiece for the very first time.

Top Free-to-Play Downloads for August (PS5 & PS4)

Fortnite still remains the king of free-to-play games it seems as it is the most downloaded game in that category for August in both the US/Canada and Europe. Call of Duty Warzone is a close second though being the second most downloaded game in the US/Canada & Europe.
