It’s a big week for PSVR2 owners this week as potentially five games are heading to PS5 for your PSVR2 headset. Yes, it’s a veritable feast of virtual reality and there’s definitely something for everyone. From zombie slaying in the beating sun to stealthily taking out Oni in feudal Japan. Or step into the shows as Leon S Kennedy and experience Resident Evil 4 Remake in a completely new way. And you can even explore randomised dungeons in a VR roguelike experience. PSVR2 owners should be very happy this week.
A big week for PSVR2 releases
On the PSVR2 front his week we have Arizona Sunshine 2 bringing its apocalyptic zombie slaying to Sony’s next-gen VR headset. It’s the sequel to PSVR1’s Arizona Sunshine and once again puts you in the shoes of the dark-humoured protagonist. You won’t be alone in your journey through a zombie-filled Arizon though as you will have a new buddy called Buddy.
Next up for PSVR2 is another game where you have a dog companion, Arashi: Castles of Sin – Final Cut. This was another game that was on PS4 and PSVR1 but developer Endeavor One has increased the fidelity and graphical gorgeousness of the game for PSVR2. In the game, you take on the role of a deadly assassin in Feudal Japan. With a variety of weapons and tools, you have to hunt down the Six Oni of Iga, a bandit group spreading chaos across the lands. Could be the closest we get to Ghost of Tsushima in VR.
Also coming to PSVR2 on Friday, December 8th is Resident Evil 4’s VR Mode. The much anticipated VR mode for Resident Evil 4 Remake has tough footsteps to follow after the excellent Resident Evil Village VR Mode. But by what we have seen and heard of this mode so far it sounds like it will be just as good if not better.
Also coming to PSVR2 this week is Ancient Dungeon VR, a roguelike dungeon crawler with randomly generated dungeons. The game promises plenty of secrets to uncover and challenging bosses to take on.
Also potentially coming out this week is Among Us VR. I say potentially because I cannot find an official release date announcement but a couple of sources do point to the social deduction game coming to PSVR2 this week. Update: Looks like Among Us VR launched for PS VR2 in the US today, December 4th. The UK PS Store still says the release date is to be determined.
And a big week for non-VR games too
If you don;t own a PSVR2 you’re certainly missing out on some quality games this week. But fret not, there are still a few titles coming out this week for non-VBR gamers too. The big Triple-A release this week is of course Ubisoft’s Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora.
From the footage I have seen, Ubisoft seem to have done of excellent job of creating a stunning world to explore. I just hope it’s not Far Cry set on Pandora.
Also coming out this week is Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition. The Ultimate Edition combines both the main game and the recently released Phantom Liberty expansion into one edition. It’s pretty cheap as well at only £39.95 from Amazon.
