In a press release released earlier today, PlayStation brand owner Sony Interactive Entertainment has announced it has entered into a strategic partnership with global developer and publisher NCSoft.
Under this new partnership, NCSoft and SIE will collaborate in various global business fields, including mobile the press release said. The partnership deal was signed between NCSoft CEO Taekjin Kim and outgoing SIE CEO Jim Ryan.
“This partnership with SIE is the beginning of our efforts to build various synergies together, utilizing both companies’ core competencies, technological capabilities, and expertise,” said Taekjin Kim, President and CEO at NCSoft. Kim added, “We will deliver a new and enjoyable experience to our audience across and beyond genres and regions.”
Sony to-be retired PlayStation chief Jim Ryan said of the partnership “Like SIE, NCSOFT shares a similar vision in creating high-quality, impactful entertainment experiences for players everywhere, and together we’re excited to collaborate to push the boundaries of gaming further.”
NCSoft was founded in 1997 in South Korea. The company soon expanded into the US in 2001 and later formed NCSoft Europe in 2004. Their European arm is headquartered in Brighton, England.
A developer and publisher, NCSoft is known for mostly making MMORPG games like Lineage and the upcoming Project LLL.
