The Last Worker Confirmed for PlayStation VR2

A game about increased automation is heading to PS5’s VR Headset

Sony may not have revealed the PlayStation VR 2 headset yet or given any indication of the release date or price. But we are already hearing of some games that will be coming to Sony’s next Virtual reality offering on PS5.

PlayStation has already confirmed that Horizon: Call of the Mountain, a VR game set in the world of Horizon, is in the works for PS VR2. And a few other developers have hinted at their games coming to PS VR2 also.

Wolf & Wood (Hoten R n R) are the latest VR developers to confirm that one of their games is coming to PlayStation VR2. The game is called The Last Worker and is a first-person narrative adventure centred around humanities struggle in an increasingly automated world.

PlayStation has recently tweeted about the game and stated that it will come to PS4 and PS5 this year. The game’s press release states that it is playable on a screen or in VR.

The Last Worker on PlayStation VR2

I sent a message to developers Wolf & Wood on Twitter to ask if it was coming to PlayStation VR2. They gave a rather awesome reply. “Too right it is. We love PSVR” they said.

I am not sure if they mean that The Last Worker will have a native PS5/PS VR2 version or if it will be playable on PS VR2 via backwards compatibility. But I think it’s a safe bet that it will be on PSVR 2.

A recent estimation by an industry analyst suggests that PS VR2 might actually launch sometime between April and June this year. If that is the case then it stands to reason that Sony would want a decent catalogue of games for its new VR headset at launch.

The Last Worker is expected to launch sometime this year for PS4 and PS5. The game is developed by Wolf & Wood and Oiffy and will be published by Wired Productions.
