Rockstar Games has confirmed that GTA 6 will be coming to PS5. The long-awaited sixth game in the Grand Theft Auto series will launch sometime in 2025.
In a press release, Rockstar Games founder Sam Houser said “Grand Theft Auto VI continues our efforts to push the limits of what’s possible in highly immersive, story-driven open-world experiences.” Houser continued “We’re thrilled to be able to share this new vision with players everywhere.”
The first trailer for GTA 6 has also been released, the trailer arrived a bit earlier than expected and has already racked up 117 million views on YouTube.
Grand Theft Auto VI heads to the state of Leonida, which bears an uncanny resemblance to the US state of Florida. Leonida is home to the neon-soaked streets of Vice City and Beyond, in the biggest and most immersive evolution of the Grand Theft Auto Series yet.
Fans have already begun picking apart the trailer to try and find any little teasers that might show what to come in the full game. One particular fan is ex-Rockstar animator Mike York. In his YouTube video, he comments on how impressed he is with the graphics for GTA 6 and how they are pushing consoles to the limit.
York goes on to explain that the trailer isn’t just cinematics but the game will actually look like this. So PS5 fans are in for a visual delight when GTA 6 drops onto PS5 in 2025.
