The first official trailer for what is undoubtedly the most anticipated game in history has gone live. Rockstar Games has dropped Grant Theft Auto 6’s trailer a bit earlier than expected and fans seem to be over the moon.

I am writing this article 22 hours after the trailer went live and it has already amassed over 87 million views on YouTube. Gamers have been waiting a decade to get a glimpse of the next instalment of the Grand Theft Auto series.

The first official trailer for GTA 6 introduces us to the series’ first female protagonist Lucia. With Tom Petty’s Love is a Long Road chosen as the trailer soundtrack the one-minute 30-second long video paints a picture of love and crime.

GTA 6 heads to Leonidas, home to the neon-soaked streets of Vice City and beyond. Rockstar’s official blurb for the game says. The blurb also says that GTA 6 will be the biggest, most immersive evolution of the Grand Theft Auto series yet.

GTA 6 looks like it is set in Rockstar’s version of the US State of Florida. The trailer depicts plenty of parting people, scantily clad women, sunkissed beaches, fast cars and an Alligator being pulled from a swimming pool.

The first official trailer for the sixth game in the GTA series has certainly caused mass excitement on the internet. But fans will have to wait a bit yet as Rockstar says it won’t be coming until 2025.

GTA 6 has been confirmed for PS5.
