Sony has released an update to the PS5 system software today, 3rd February 2021. PS5 system software version 20.02-02.50.00 fixes an issue with PS4 games being installed from disc.
In rare cases, the PS4 version of a game would install from the disc after you upgraded to and installed the PS5 version. Now, when you insert the PS4 game disc, the PS4 version won’t install unexpectedly.
PS5 system software version 20.02-02.50.00 also adds the ability to select and edit video clips in Share Factory Studio direct from the Media Gallery. Just like you could on PS4. Previously, you could only select and edit videos using the PS5’s built-in edit feature. Which was similar to the PS4’s trim feature.
You can now select and edit video clips using Share Factory Studio from your media gallery.
Now you can select your game clip in the Media Gallery, press options and select Edit in Share Factory Studio and the clip will open in Share Factory ready to be edited.
This latest system software update for PS5 also improves system performance.
Unfortunately, this PS5 software update does not add the missing screen Zoom feature from PS4.
