Spider-Man 2 Swings into Top Spot of UK Boxed Charts

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 had only been out for a day but managed to swing its way into the number one position of the UK All-Formats Boxed charts for the week ending 21st October.

Insomniac Games’ superhero game has knocked out the competition, including Nintendo’s Super Mario Wonder to reach the top spot.

GamesIndustry.biz reports that Spider-Man 2 sales were just below that of Hogwarts Legacy. And 27& lower than God of War Ragnarok. But as this is purely based on physical, boxed sales the digital figures could put sales of the third Spider-Man game from Insomniac even higher.

When comparing sales to God of War Ragnarok, GI.biz notes that God of War Ragnarok launched on a Wednesday, while Spider-Man 2 launched on a Friday. This means Ragnarok got a couple of days’ head start on sales.

When comparing Spider-Man 2 sales to Spider-Man: Miles Morales, a PS5 launch game in 2020, Spider-Man 2’s sales are 29% higher than GamesIndustry.biz says.

PS5 UK Boxed Charts

If we look specifically at the UK PS5 Boxed Charts, Spider-Man 2 is number 1. It knocks EA Sports FC 24 off the top spot which now sits in second place. This pushed Assassin’s Creed Mirage down to third. New entry Sonic Superstars nudges Star Wars Jedi Survivor down to fourth.
