Modern Warfare 3 has knocked Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 off the top spot in the UK PS5 Boxed Charts. Essentially it proves that certain games don’t even need to be good to sell well.
Activision’s latest game in the Call of Duty series also enters the all-formats chart in the number one position.
Modern Warfare 3 has so far been reviewed poorly by critics and fans. The game has only managed a 50 on Metacritic with its user score almost hitting rock bottom at a paltry 1.4. Critics and users alike are slamming the latest CoD for its short campaign and rehashed ideas from previous titles in the series. The consensus is that Modern Warfare 3 is probably the worst Call of Duty ever.
The PS5 Boxed Chart
It was probably inevitable that Modern Warfare 3 would have knocked Insomniac’s glorious Spider-Man 2 off the top spot. But the open-world superhero extravaganza is still going strong. Spider-Man 2 is still keeping EA Sports FC 24 at bay and remains venomous in second place, spending its fourth week in the UK boxed charts.
EA Sports FC 24 drops a place to number three and Hogwarts Legacy moves up a position to four. Assassin’s Creed Mirage drops down one to number five. Robocop Rogue City, which entered the charts last week at number three has dropped three places to number six.
Grand Theft Auto 5 is still going strong in the UK PS5 boxed charts, holding steadfast at number seven. Rockstar announced last week that they would be dropping the first trailer for Grant Theft Auto 6 in early December.
Rounding off the UK PS5 Boxed charts, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor makes a re-entry at number 9.
