The Wanderers straw hat is one of many hats and vanity items found in Ghost of Tsushima.
This particular straw hat is usually worn by the Ronin. In fact, Ronin means “drifter” or “wanderer.”
The description of the hat reads: Keep the rain off your face and the Sun from your eyes.

Wanderers Straw Hat location
This oversized straw hat can be found just south of the Fallen Outpost. The Fallen Outpost is south of Komatsu Forge and near Winding Mountain Shrine.
You can find the Wanderers straw hat just south of the Fallen Outpost, on a dirt road. As shown in the screenshot below. The hat is sitting on top of a wooden stick in the ground, on the left side of the road as you approach from the south.
