A new week means new PS5, PSVR2 and PS4 games are coming out way. This week sees another steady stream of new games hit digital and retail stores. There are a couple of big games coming to PS5 this week and a nice amount of games for you PSVR2 owners as well.
There are a couple of big-name releases coming to PS5 this week. namely Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition and Assassin’s Creed Mirage.
Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition comes to PS5 on October 6th and includes the base game and the excellent Burning Shores DLC. If you’ve never played Forbidden West before then you are in for a treat as both the base game and DLC are superb. Read my Horizon Forbidden West Review and Burning Shores review.
Assassin’s Creed Mirage takes the series back to its stealthy routes on October 5th. The game follows Basim, who you might remember from Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. The game departs from the open-world format of recent Assassin’s Creed games and instead focuses more on stealth and assassination, like the original Assassin’s Creed games. I really liked the open-world games, in fact, it was Assassin’s Creed Origins that got me into the franchise. I am not sure how I will like the more streamlined, stealth approach of Mirage but I am hopeful it will be great.
Also coming this week to PS5 is once Xbox-exclusive Scorn. It’s a first-person horror game where you control an entity trapped in a nightmarish world. The game blends immersive exploration cryptic contraptions and gruesome survival.
Virtual Reality Variety
On the PSVR2 front, there are plenty of titles to choose from this week. Pixel Ripped 1995 comes out on Tuesday, October 3rd after its slight delay. Waltz of the Wizard from Aldin Dynamics is an interesting-sounding game, the description says “An experience unlike any other that gives anyone powers to change the world, with just a spoken word and wave of their hand.” It’s out on October 3rd also if you want to give it a try.
Also coming out this week is Ghost Signal: A Stellaris game, a VR action roguelite from VR vets Fast Travel Games. In Ghost Signal, players pilot their ship from a third-person perspective and lead it into battle against enemy armadas. The game features a narrative campaign that has you charting a path through space, bartering with alien merchants and taking on gigantic bosses. Sounds like this might be pretty damn good.
And last but not least is Red Matter for PSVR2. Red Matter is the first game in the series before Red Matter 2. Red Matter 2 is an astounding PS VR2 game and one of the best-looking games I have seen on PS VR2 so far. If you haven’t played either game I would play Red Matter first then Red Matter 2. According to the PlayStation Store, Red Matter lands on PSVR2 on October 5th.
