The latest patch for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has been released today and fixes the Cuban flag mistake that game media blew out of all proportion. In case you are not aware of the Cuban flag mistake, in Miles Morales’ house a Cuban flag could be seen hanging on the wall. Miles Morales’ is of Puerto Rican origin so some fans and media picked up on this and it became an issue for some reason.

Today’s patch released by Insomniac Games fixes the flag mistake and presumably replaces the Cuban Flag with a Puerto Rican flag. In the release notes, Insomniac has even apologised stating: “We understand that accurate representation matters, and greatly regret this error. We sincerely apologize and will do better in the future.”

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 version 1.001.003 also fixes a few other issues. Here are the short patch notes from Insomniac.

  • Addressed an issue where an incorrect flag was displayed
  • Addressed an issue where models would not load properly after long play sessions
  • Addressed an issue where The Amazing 2 Suit’s Spider logo appeared too bright
  • Improved stability

Spider-Man 2 has been one of PlayStation’s biggest games. Not only did it release to critical and fan acclaim but it has also become the fastest-selling PlayStation Studios game ever and is currently number one in the UK boxed charts.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is out now for PS5.
